To celebrate the launch of the first issue, Layered is teaming up with Abricot for a night of fashion, conversation, and community on Wednesday, 2 April. Wear a garment with a story—something that holds meaning for you. Or simply come as you are and connect with like-minded fashion lovers over Abricot’s exquisite cocktails and snacks (€15 minimum per guest).
The debut issue, released in 2025, features 18 unique submissions from contributors across the globe and is available for free download at layeredmagazine.com. We’ll also have copies on hand for you to flip through at the event.
More about Layered:
Fashion is a set of codes, a pact between the fleeting and the timeless. It’s memory and aspiration stitched together, unfolding in every choice we make—each clash of confidence and doubt, each step down a cracked sidewalk.
Layered celebrates fashion as more than industry or trend. It’s a chronicle of identity, culture, and the narratives woven into our clothes. Beyond the zeitgeist, the magazine explores the stories garments carry and the people who wear them. An ode to fashion’s complexity—deeply personal, universally shared.
More about the Editor-in-Chief:
Kathryn Galloway is a writer, editor, and storyteller who believes words should do two things: clarify and resonate. With a BA in Journalism and an MA in Global Communications, she has spent the past decade crafting essays, interviews, newsletters, and copy that inform, connect, and inspire.
Her perspective has been shaped by movement—living in San Francisco, Madison, Minneapolis, Honolulu, Chicago, and now Paris, with additional shorter-term stints in Nicaragua, Italy, and India. These experiences have sharpened her adaptability, deepened her curiosity, and reinforced her belief that storytelling transcends borders.
Layered is the latest evolution of her work—a magazine that explores the personal and cultural narratives woven into our wardrobes. It’s a celebration of fashion as memory, identity, and expression, inviting readers to see their clothes not as disposable pieces of fabric, but as stories worth telling.
